Upon returning from their adventure in the Eastern Caverns, the Shane Gang arrives home to find a dispute brewing with the mysterious Shadow Clan. As they try to resolve the conflict, a new slug slinger named Tad arrives from the Surface, just like Eli. Tad seems to be a hero and quickly gains popularity, but he hides a dark secret about his past. Eli must uncover the truth about Tad and stop a war with the Shadow Clan before it's too late.
